The Challenge

Put the payload in exactly the right place—then initiate with confidence at depth

Operators are often working in poor visibility, current and restricted access, where ROV stability and approach angle make accurate placement difficult. They need a system that:

Positions and holds a disruptor reliably alongside the target without snagging or drift;
Adapts to different tasks (low order vs high order) without changing the whole setup;
Supports the initiation method available (manual, coded RF, acoustic) and preferred detonation route (NONEL or electric);
Integrates quickly onto different ROV platforms so capability isn’t tied to one vehicle;
Works repeatably from surface to 300m without adding unnecessary complexity to the firing chain.

What Cobra MDS solves

Cobra MDS provides a ROV-ready, buoyancy-compensated, non-magnetic platform with a modular “toolbox” approach, interchangeable with the BX disruptor range, and compatible with multiple initiation options for controlled disposal.

Interface bracket can be adapted to different ROVs, or used via the ROV manipulator

Interchangeable “toolbox” system compatible with the ECS Special Projects BX disruptor range

Designed to achieve Low Order Neutralisation or High Order, depending on conditions and circumstances

Supports manual initiation, coded RF and acoustic initiation methods, with NONEL or electric detonation
