Cobra SeaFox

Cobra SeaFox

Cobra MDS is a modular mine/IED disposal system designed to integrate with any commercial ROV for safe, controlled neutralisation. It supports low order or high order outcomes and works down to 300m.

The Challenge

Neutralise mines/UxO from an ROV—when placement, stability and initiation options are mission-critical.

Operators often need to prosecute underwater threats where visibility is poor, access is constrained, and the ROV must place a payload precisely without destabilising or snagging.

They also need a system that can adapt to different targets and effects (low order vs high order), while remaining compatible with the initiation method available on the day (manual, coded RF, acoustic) and able to operate reliably to 300m.

Finally, teams want a solution that is quick to integrate on different ROV platforms, so capability isn’t locked to one vehicle or one payload type.

Cobra SeaFox Key features & benefits

What Cobra SeaFox solves

Cobra MDS provides a ROV-ready, buoyancy-compensated, non-magnetic platform that can be configured with ECS disruptors and initiated using NONEL or electric detonation with multiple initiation options—supporting controlled disposal in civilian and defence contexts.
A modular system with an interface bracket that can be adapted and integrated to different ROVs, or operated via the ROV manipulator.
Fully modular “toolbox” approach—capable of being interchangeable with the ECS Special Projects BX disruptor range.
Designed to achieve either Low Order Neutralisation or High Order, depending on conditions and circumstances.
Supports manual initiation, coded RF, and acoustic initiation methods, with NONEL or electric detonation options.
