Welcome to our new website
Operators are frequently tasked with prosecuting mines, IED threats and historic ordnance in conditions that make “simple placement” anything but simple: limited visibility, uncertain standoff, awkward angles, currents and surge, and target surfaces that don’t suit magnets or conventional rigging.
The practical problems stack up quickly—getting a payload accurately positioned relative to the target, ensuring it stays put long enough to complete the firing chain, and doing it without exposing divers or relying on improvised methods that can slip, snag or fail.
Teams also need to switch between Low Order Neutralisation and High Order depending on the scenario, while keeping the system compatible with the initiation method available (manual, coded RF, or acoustic) and the detonation preference (NONEL or electric).
In addition, real operations demand repeatability: the ability to prosecute multiple targets, minimise rework between serial tasks, and integrate the same capability across different ROV platforms—without locking capability to a single vehicle or bespoke interface.
What Viper MDS solves
Performance Parameters
A non-magnetic, buoyancy-neutral ROV mine disposal system that attaches physically via the patented NAU and carries any BX disruptor—enabling repeatable Low Order or High Order prosecution with manual, RF or acoustic initiation to 300m
